Alumni Pre-Reunion Event on Saturday

Sat., Apr. 5, 6:00-9:00 p.m.

The Walden III Alumni will be hosting a fundraiser at Shillings Pub in downtown Racine this Saturday, April 5th, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door. Attendees will enjoy samples of beer, wine and appetizers. Mingle with old friends and enjoy the fond memories. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Walden III School. Please note that this is an adults-only event. To reserve tickets, please contact Walden@Racineonline.com or reservations can be made online by visiting www.waldeniii.org. A limited number of tickets are still available.

Third Quarter Conferences on April 10 and 11

Thurs., Apr. 10 and Fri., Apr. 11

Third quarter will end on Thursday, April 10 with a partial day of classes. Conferences for parents, teachers, and students will begin Thursday, April 10 in the afternoon and continue through Friday, April 11.


Walden Bands at Band-a-Rama

Sat., Apr. 12

On Saturday, April 12, the Walden bands will participate in Park high school's Band-a-Rama. All bands will have a morning rehearsal in preparation for a 7:30 p.m. concert. One Walden parent volunteer is needed (see Volunteer Opportunities below).

College Information Night on April 15

Tues., Apr. 15, 7:00 p.m.

Planning for college starts in middle school. Join us for a College Information Night on Tuesday, April 15, 7:00 p.m. to find out what your child needs to be doing now to get ready for life after high school. Representatives from area colleges will be on hand to talk about:

  • What high school classes should my child take?
  • How important are high school electives for college admission?
  • When should my child take the ACT?
  • What do colleges look for on college applications?
  • When should we start saving for college?

All RUSD middle and high school parents and students are invited to attend. The College Information Night is sponsored by the Walden III PTSA.

Food for Staff Appreciation Luncheon

Parent Volunteer for Band-a-Rama

A parent volunteer is needed to help supervise the Walden band members during their participation in the Park high school Band-a-Rama.

Chaperone for Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra

Thurs., Apr. 17

Middle school students will have a fieldtrip to hear the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, April 17. Parent chaperones are needed for the fieldtrip. Please contact Vanessa to volunteer.

Boxes of Tissues for Supply Pantry

After a long winter with lots of sickness, the Walden supply pantry needs boxes of tissues. Please donate a box by dropping it off at the school office.

FUNDRAISING

Scrip Tips for Apr.2

Next order due Apr. 10, delivery on Apr. 18

Since the Great Lakes Scrip Center will be closed for the week of April 7th, our next scrip order will be due Thursday, April 10th, with delivery no later than during homegroup on Friday, April 18th. Weekly scrip orders and delivery should resume after that.

If you would like to purchase scrip in the meantime, Pam Heitfeld has a limited amount on hand. Contact Pam for Barnes & Noble ($10), Chancery ($5), Culvers ($10), Dairy Queen ($1), Kohls ($25), Marcus Theaters ($25), Office Max ($25), Panera ($10), Piggly Wiggly ($25), Qdoba ($25), Sentry ($10), Speedway ($25), Starbucks ($10), and Subway ($10).

Scrip orders are due in the scrip mail box located in the school office by 9:00 AM. If you do not want your student to pick up your scrip order, please make arrangements with Pam Heitfeld to pick it up at another time.
