What Makes a Great Walden Parent?
As parents, we have a responsibility to prepare our children to gain the most benefit from their education at Walden. Here are some common-sense—but often overlooked—things you can do to help your child succeed.
- Attend all parent-teacher conferences.
- Make sure your children eat a healthy breakfast every day.
- Reinforce a healthy diet with a minimal amount of junk food. Studies have shown that students perform better at school if they eat a balanced diet.
- If you have a question for a teacher, call the office and ask to leave a written message for the teacher. The Walden staff want to work with parents in helping students to succeed.
- Middle School Parents: Ask to see your child's assignment planner every day. Every class should have an assignment entry or "no assignment." Ask about the nature of the homework assignments and suggest resources.
